If you plan to go this far down south of the country, the best way to get here is by air. There are other means to get here, of course, but unless you have a car that can bring you here, the best mode of reaching this place is by airplane. Which is why it is a good thing that Naples, has more than a couple airports that are used by several airline companies that can take you here as quickly and as safely as possible. No two airports have the same amenities and services so its up to you to choose which one suits your traveling style and budget the best.

For now we’ll look at these airports and let’s take a peek on what they have in store for the passengers.

Naples Municipal Airport

Our very own airport is served by airline charter carriers such as Naples Air, Gulfcoast Airways and ExecAir just to name a few. Be reminded that you cannot do a regularly scheduled commercial flight in this airport. If you are packing light for your vacation, just drive a little bit further and you’d get to be in these two other airports.

Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW)

First, and the route people normally take is thru Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW). RSW  accomodates 7-8 million passengers yearly. The reason why this is the more popular choice is because this airport is the one closest to the beaches, hotels and the tourist destinations around the city. The RSW can be located after a smooth 45 minute drive south from Naples.

Punta Gorda Airport

This is a very highly underrated airport. It’s not as close as RSW to downtown Naples, but it certainly not very fair, to our estimation. It’s only 70 miles from the downtown area to the airport. This place is especially advantageous for the passengers from midwesterners as the deals may be much better. Another advantage is that the airport is served by small-time airline players so that means more affordable tickets.

The reason we mentioned midwesterners is that the airport has a growing list of services from these places: Allentown, PA, Asheville, NC, Belleville, IL, Cedar Rapids, IA, Cincinnati, OH, Columbus, OH, Concord/Charlotte, NC, Dayton, OH, Des Moines, IA, Fort Wayne, IN, Greenville/Spartanburg, SC, Grand, Rapids, MI, Harrisburg, PA, Huntington, WV, Indianapolis, IN, Kansas City, MO, Knoxville, TN, Lexington,KY, Louisville, KY, Niagara Falls, NY, Peoria, IL, Pittsburgh, PA, Raleigh/Durham, NC, Rockford, IL, South Bend, IN, Springfield, IL, Springfield/Branson, MO, Plattsburgh, NY, Portsmouth, NH, Trenton, NJ, Chicago O’Hare, IL, Philadelphia, PA, Trenton, NJ and Toledo, OH.

There you have it. These are the main flying routes into the famous Paradise Coast. Check your local listings and the official websites of the airports mentioned above for more information.
