While the greater part of the United States is under the tender mercy of a sub-zero winter, it’s a major relief to know there are places to escape to where the breeze is warm and the sun is shining.  Almost at the very moment you step into Naples, you’ll be dazzled by white sandy beaches, warm waters, and outdoor fun like surfing, boating, fishing hunting and golfing and these are just a few examples.

While your neighbors are suffering the intolerable winter conditions if not shoveling snow in their front yard, you are here, playing golf, getting tanned on a recliner or enjoying one of the numerous open-air activities you can do while in the city. Our gentle winter season has been offering voyagers a chance to escape winter for more than 100 years.

So, yes, if you still haven’t guessed it at this point, it never snows in Florida. And even though it gets a little bit cold in the winter season, the average temperature doesn’t change much in the spring and summer seasons which can play somewhere along 80-110 Fahrenheit on any given day. But during the winter months that goes down to 50 to 90 degrees, which is colder but not significantly so. This means, you can keep your sweater, gloves and coats while you’re taking a stroll outdoors.

Having a warm and fair winter season means you can enjoy all manner of fun and hopefully legal activities while doing it outside. But be reminded that Florida, generally, has two seasons, the wet season and the dry season. The wet seasons often have rainy days and this keeps the soil of Florida healthy which is why this part of the country is dense with vegetation that can support a diverse wildlife. This season starts in April and ends in November. The dry season lasts November until March and is marked with hot and humid days. These are the months that are perfect for beach outings.

Speaking of beach outings, Naples is proud to have a pristine coastline that attracts many people from different parts of the country. So, the next time you’re here, drop by in one of our beaches and take a dip in the Gulf of Mexico and experience what life is truly about.

Another outdoor activity that’s a hit around these parts is fishing. Fishing is popular during the winter months because the people going out into the water don’t have to worry turbulent seas or hurricanes. All you need to worry about is having a boat which is not an entirely bad thing because there are boat companies around the area that are both capable and willing to lend a hand.

So, what are you waiting for? Book your flights and make your hotel reservations and make the trip down south to southwestern Florida. And while you’re at it, make sure to visit Divinenaples.com and go to our Tourist Guide section to see all the great spots you can find yourself in.
